In a notification issued on Friday, the Indian Navy has invited applications from eligible single men and women for the Short Term Commission (SSC) grant in Information Technology (Executive Branch) under the special course naval guidance. The online application for the SSC course is open until August 15. The recruitment campaign is underway for up to 50 positions.
The course will commence from January 2023 at the Indian Naval Academy (INA) Ezhimala, Kerala. Applicants are also required to meet the nationality requirements as set by the Government of India. Shortlisted candidates will join the SSC Executive at the rank of Second Lieutenant. Initially, the term of service will be ten years, and the first two years will be a probationary period for the SSC (IT) officer. The term of service can be extended up to four years.

Indian Navy Recruitment 2022: Eligibility Criteria
Eligible candidates for the next SSC course in the Information Technology branch must be born between January 2, 1998 and July 1, 2003. Other qualifications provided by the notification mentioned that interested candidates must have the degree of studies with a minimum of 60 percent overall qualifying marks, in either of the following categories: MSc, BE, BTech, MTech (Computer Science/Computer Science and Engineering, Computer Science) or Engineering, Computer Science, Software Systems, Cybersecurity , System and Network Administration, Computer and Network Systems, Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence or MCA with BCA, BSc (Computer Science/Computer Science).

Step 1: Visit the official website — joinindianavy.gov.in
Step 2: On the homepage, register first.
Step 3: Once you are registered, log in from the Applicant Portal and select the SSC (Information Technology) Senior Executive and fill in the details.
Step 4: Upload the required documents and complete the application process.
Indian Navy Recruitment 2022: Selection Process
The notification also informs that the shortlisting of applications will be based on the normalized scores achieved by qualifying degree candidates. The marks obtained by candidates for the qualifying diploma will be standardized. For candidates who have completed or are in their final year of BE/BTech, grades obtained up to the fifth semester will be considered for SSB preselection. For candidates who have completed MSc/MCA/M Tech, grades obtained in all semesters will be considered for shortlisting.
Meanwhile, for final year students pursuing MSc/MCA/M Tech studies, grades achieved up to pre-final year will be considered. The Indian Navy notification also mentions that shortlisted candidates will be notified of their selection for SSB interviews via email or SMS.
