Metfone’s School Information System (SIS) Wins “Best Enterprise IT Solution of the Year” Award

Phnom Penh – Metfone’s online digital education system was named “Best Enterprise IT Solution of the Year” by the Globee Awards, the International Business Awards Program and the Business Ranking List.

The School Information System (SIS) is developed by Metfone with the support of the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications and in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports.

As part of the plan, the SIS would be rolled out to 1,000 schools across the country and initially the system has already been used by 300 schools with more than 300,000 students and more than 20,000 teachers, according to management. Metfone.

Mr. Phung Van Cuong, Managing Director of Metfone, said SIS has been recognized by the Globee Awards as one of the best digital education apps in the world.

“Alongside global tech giants like IBM, HP and Samsung, Metfone Cambodia has achieved first place in the International Best in Business Awards category, winning gold and silver awards for its digital education system, SIS, ”Cuong said.

“The awards reaffirm Metfone’s position as Cambodian leader in digital technology. And this further encourages the company to bring more technological and digital innovations to the Cambodian market, ”he added.

According to Metfone, SIS offers three main benefits to users. First, it provides an online application which users can access through the Internet; second, it offers a personalized learning interface to meet the needs of schools; and thirdly, it offers connectivity advantages with Metfone operator users who can access SIS without any internet cost.

The SIS project aims to contribute to the development of the education sector in Cambodia by providing digital services to more than 1,000 schools across the country.

The digital transformation project aims to improve student experiences by:

  • Allow students to enter through a mobile application or web application;
  • Provide a wide range of choices for online learning;
  • Use technology to monitor student progress and apply intervention protocols;
  • Activation of online class organization faculties.
