TransRe adjusts underwriting structure with key promotions

TransRe, the New York-based reinsurer 100% owned by Alleghany Corporation, has changed its underwriting structure and made a number of key promotions.

The changes come as the company seeks to refine its analysis and portfolio consistency, while maintaining relationships with clients and brokers.

First, Paul McKeon has been promoted to President, Regional Markets. In this role, he will lead the underwriting and market operations of the reinsurer.

The regional teams that will report to McKeon continue to be responsible for the execution of local market strategies, underwriting, marketing and client / broker development.

As part of this change, Kyle Rhodes, who recently led TransRe’s Asia-Pacific region, has been appointed President, North America. Additionally, Andy Taylor has been promoted to lead the firm’s international team which includes the UK, Europe and Asia Pacific regions.

Rhodes, Taylor and Jorge Beltran, who continues to lead the Latin American regions of TransRe, will all report directly to McKeon.

TransRe also promoted Elizabeth Geary to President, Global Portfolio Management. In this role, she will lead a team focused on underwriting portfolio analysis. The team reporting to Geary will include Lisa Moser, Global Property Leader; Brian Finlay, Global Head of Professional Liability; and Keith Trigg, Global Head of Accidents.

Geary is also expected to retain his role as Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO) for North America, supporting Rhodes and his team.

These promotions follow the appointment of Ken Brandt as President and CEO (CEO) of TransRe in March and the promotion of Paul Bonny to Executive Vice President. McKeon and Geary will both report directly to Brandt.
