Trump finally announces long-standing threatened online network “TRUTH Social”

It has been over 10 months since former President Donald J. Trump was kicked off most social media, including his favorite platform, Twitter. His attempts to fill that gaping hole did not go well. Remember when he had a LiveJournal-esque blog? But he has long threatened to create his own social media network. And finally, after many moons, he has one. And it has a predictably bombastic (and, rightly, certainly misleading) name.

According to The hill, Trump announced the upcoming launch of the latest right-wing social media service, titled “TRUTH Social.” (Yes, it appears to be in all capitals.) The platform will be operated by another Trump company called Trump Media & Technology Group, which surely will not be investigated like all the others. An exaggerated and predictable press release accompanied the news.

“I created TRUTH Social and TMTG to resist the tyranny of Big Tech. We live in a world where the Taliban have a strong presence on Twitter, but your favorite US president has been silenced. This is unacceptable, ”the statement read, written by the big guy himself. There was more:

“I am delighted to be posting my first TRUTH on TRUTH Social very soon. TMTG was founded with the mission of giving everyone a voice. I’m excited to start sharing my thoughts on TRUTH Social and tackling Big Tech soon. Everyone asks me why nobody stands up to Big Tech? Well, we will be soon!

A bet launch for TRUTH is expected to go into effect at some point in November, with a launch slated for the first quarter of 2022 – in other words, roughly a year after its social media de-platform, and a year after. helping to foment a failed but deadly insurgency in the Capitol building. When that happens, it will have to compete with every other far-right social media platform, which has had their own headaches, including hacking users’ personal data. But the president’s failed blogger is super rich, isn’t he?
